Fighter pilot school training brings increase in air traffic locally

You may notice some L39 jets flying over the North Bay area over the next couple of weeks.

That’s because the International Tactical Training Centre (ITTC) is set to take part in training sessions locally starting on Monday, resulting in an increase in air traffic.

Bryan Avery, Jack Garland Airport Manager, says the flights will mainly take place during the day.

“ITTC is a Canadian fighter pilot school, a branch of the International Test Pilots School (ITPS),” says Avery, in a release.  “This is ITTC’s first training exercise in North Bay. This training exercise demonstrates the North Bay Jack Garland Airport’s diverse operations and capabilities for flight training, testing, and much more alongside routine day-to-day air traffic.

He also says the airport and ITTC thank area residents and community members for their support during the training opportunity.
