Open house takes place next week on Trout Lake development-related policies

North Bay and East Ferris residents are being invited to an open house next week involving two development-related draft policies.

One looks to guide rural lot creation within the city while the other will guide development around Trout Lake, Four Mile Lake, and nearby streams.

The session is taking place on Wednesday, Sept. 10 (3 pm to 7 pm) at the Portage on Peninsula Road.

Staff will make presentations at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm and will also be available to answer questions.

Public comment is being accepted on both policies, which are based on the Trout Lake Watershed Study and Management Plan, prepared by the City of North Bay, the Municipality of East Ferris, and the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority.

Officials say feedback from this first public presentation of the draft policies will help refine the policies before they are presented to Council later this fall.
