Callander unveils new Veteran’s Crosswalk and historical murals

Callander is honouring veterans and the past with some new visual touches.

A Veteran’s Crosswalk has been painted on Main Street, featuring the silhouette of a bowing soldier and the words ‘Lest We Forget.”

It’s located between Veteran’s Ridge and Centennial Park.

“This special crosswalk honours the brave individuals who have served our country, offering a daily reminder of their sacrifice and courage,” states a post on social media.

The municipality has also unveiled some new historical murals.

Officials say they’re a tribute to the people, places, and moments that shaped the community.
