Mixed results with housing resale numbers in the area last month

It was a September to remember for new residential listings in the local real estate market.

Stats from the North Bay and Area Realtors Association show the 219 new residential listings represent a 46% increase from September last year.

In fact, officials say it was the largest number of new listings added in the month of September in more than a decade.

Also up was the average price of a home.

It was $512,767 last month, which is up 12.8% from the same month last year.

Meantime, the 114 units sold is a slight drop of 2.6% (three sales) from September last year.

Year-to-date sales were up slightly (1.6%) while new inventory last month was up significantly.
