(UPDATE) Thursday was Trojans Parade for Cancer day

(UPDATE) Students at West Ferris Secondary School raised over $60,000 for the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation through the Trojans Parade for Cancer this year.

The money will support diagnostic technology that helps with the early detection of cancer.

Officials are thanking the community for their generosity and support of the campaign, adding their kindness will make a real difference for patients and families in our region.

This was the 31st annual Trojans Parade for Cancer.

Prior to the event, Teacher Mark Robertson said the community continues to show up for their fundraiser.

“In the last three years we’ve raised in excess of $50,000 each year to bring us up over a total of $550,000 over the 31 years,” he said.

The fundraiser started with a small group of students walking laps around the track and has grown into the parade it is today.
