Waterfront activities planned for Canada Day in North Bay

A full day of live entertainment and family fun is lined up for Canada Day at North Bay’s waterfront.

The day begins with a 5K road race and the Canada Day Regatta. Registration for both events will take place on site the morning of July 1.

At noon is the opening ceremony at the Kiwanis Bandshell, with the Canada Day Kids Zone, interactive reptile and magic shows, and live music all day.

The fireworks are scheduled for dusk, weather permitting, with road closures at the waterfront in effect ahead of the show.

Residents can also enjoy free admission at the Dionne Quints Home and the North Bay Museum throughout the day.

As for Stat Holiday closures on Wednesday, City Hall, the Waste Diversion Facility, and Merrick Landfill will all be closed that day.

There will be no transit service on Wednesday.

Garbage or recycling won’t be collected that day either.

It’ll be delayed a day through the rest of the week.
