City man charged after police responded to aggressive driving complaints

City police report an aggressive driving investigation has led to impaired driving, drug trafficking and weapons charges for a 42-year-old North Bay man.

Police say on July 22, officers responded to a traffic complaint in the area of Main Street East and Lakeshore Drive, with a traffic stop conducted on Milford Crescent.

They say that’s where officers observed signs consistent with drug impairment and seized suspected cocaine and Percocet pills along with a replica handgun.

“Our members responded quickly, conducted a thorough investigation, identified the risks involved, and took action to prevent further harm to the public,” says Insp. Scott MacFarlane. “We remain committed to addressing dangerous behaviour and protecting our community.”

The driver’s licence was automatically suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
