Simulated gunfire part of Wednesday film shoot

Loud sounds similar to gunfire may be heard in the West Ferris area on Wednesday.

That advisory from city police, who say a film production at 515 Birchs Road is using firearms loaded with blank ammunition.

They say approximately 75 rounds will be used over multiple takes, adding the simulated gunfire will be approximately 25% the volume of real gunfire.

“NBPS has been informed of the filming and the use of simulated gunfire, and appropriate safety measures will be in place throughout the production,” states a release. “If you observe an emergency or suspicious activity unrelated to the scheduled filming, call 9-1-1 immediately.”

People may also notice actors in tactical costumes carrying firearms.
