Voting begins Thursday in North Bay’s municipal election

City residents will be able to cast their ballot in the municipal election starting on Thursday (Oct. 15).

The voting period opens at 10 am and runs through 8 pm on Oct. 26.

With the information found in your Voter Information Letter, officials say use your computer, tablet, or smartphone to cast your ballot electronically.

If you don’t have access to a device or internet, or would like assistance, visit the main floor lobby of City Hall on the following dates, where computers and election staff will be available:
– Thursday, Oct. 15 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
– Friday, Oct. 16 through Friday, Oct. 23 – between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Monday to Friday only)

Two Voter Assistance Centres will be open on Monday, Oct. 26 between 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. if you don’t have access to a device or internet, or would like assistance:
– Boart Longyear Memorial Gardens – 100 Chippewa Street West
– WFCU Place – 1099 Lakeshore Drive

The city also says it’s also working with local institutions to help eligible voters access the online voting system.

Designated staff at local long-term care facilities, the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the North Bay Jail will receive training from the Clerk’s Department to assist voters at those locations.

If you haven’t received your Voter Information Letter by Oct. 15, visit city hall or a voting location to be added to the voters list.
