A domestic violence incident from early Saturday morning has resulted in the arrest of a 24-year old North Bay woman.
North Bay Police say it is alleged around 3:00am an argument between the accused and the female victim turned violent. The accused grabbed a hammer, threatened the victim and physically hit her.
Corporate Communications Coordinator Marie Lugli says the victim was able to leave the premises. Police located the accused at another residence and made the arrest.
The 24-year old is charged with one count of domestic assault, one count of assault with a weapon and faces five other charges.
Meantime, Police responded to 277 calls for service over the weekend. Five people were arrested and charged for a variety of offences.
Those included one count of assault with a weapon, one count of drive over 80, one count of domestic assault and one count of fraud under $5,000.
