Mayor Al McDonald says they are bringing a pan-northern approach when the mayors of the large urban centres meet in North Bay.
Four times a year the mayors of North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay and Timmins come together to discuss challenges and strategies. This week they are in North Bay. McDonald says there are always lots of issues to talk over including: the ONTC, energy costs, jobs, economic development and more.
He says the other three mayors are very engaged in their communities and they all face similar challenges.
McDonald says the main goal is to find ways to make northern Ontario as a whole an attractive place to invest in.
The meeting will include a tour of the city for the mayors to show what North Bay has to offer. McDonald says it’s always a great opportunity to be the host city for this event.
