Protecting our region’s water supply is the mandate for the North Bay-Mattawa Drinking Water Source Protection program.
The group will be installing 15 signs around the region, indicating the vulnerable areas where certain activities could impact the drinking water. Two signs were installed last week on Trout Lake Road, with more to come in Callander, Mattawa, South River and Machar.
This is one initiative the group is planning to help reduce the threat of contamination to municipal drinking water supplies.
