Young kids in North Bay are getting a chance to develop a passion for reading.
Canadore College, in partnership with First Books Canada, gave away thousands of free books Wednesday. Chantel St. Amor helped organize the event and says there were over 15 local organizations that took part in the event.
She says the organizations went to Canadore College and took up to 100 free books to give away to their clients.
Amor says there are low income families who can’t afford books so they are trying to give them opportunity to have reading material.
