A 29-year-old man from Brazil is missing after he did not resurface while swimming in Lake Nipissing.
Powassan OPP say they received a call about the man on Sunday around 2:45pm. He was on a boat in the Callander Bay area when he went swimming about a kilometre from shore.
Police say the waves were to powerful and the man struggled to swim against them. He went under the water and did not resurface.
Powassan OPP and the North Bay Marine Unit conducted an extensive search on Sunday.
They will continue to search again today with the OPP underwater search and recovery unit.
