A Niagara Falls woman is accused of stealing more than $175,000 from a senior resident.
North Bay Police had been following an ongoing fraud investigation and made the arrest last Friday. The 57-year-old woman had lived with the victim and provided caregiving services.
Police say over the course, of a year the woman falsely transferred over $175,000 of the victim’s money into her own account.
The victim is an 80-year-old North Bay resident whose identity is being withheld for protection.
The woman is facing one count of fraud over $5,000 and two other charges.
