Ontario’s health care is a convoluted system that needs to be refocused on people says Dr. Bob Bell. Bell is the Deputy Minister of Health and he says their Patients First Action Plan for Health Care will look to achieve that goal.
Bell says the plan would help patients understand how the system works and make sure they get the right care they need.
Bell was speaking at the Annual General Meeting of Health Science North last week, and he says they are already on the right path.He says he spent time with the staff there and they are going beyond their four walls to provide care and listen to the community.
He says that’s what the plan is all about. Bell says engaging regional and provincial leaders and hospital staff will be an essential aspect of Patients First.
