Companies fined over Ring of Fire activity

A British Columbia mining company that commissioned a mining camp at the Ring of Fire has been fined $10,000 while the construction firm that carried out the work has been fined $5,000. The Ministry of Natural Resources says both companies were fined because they didn’t have a work permit. Also a director with the construction firm was fined $5,000 for building without a permit and for disobeying a stop work order. And the construction company president was fined $2,000 for not having a work permit. The MNR told all parties repeatedly they needed a work order to build at the site but they all ignored the warnings.
