Taxpayers Association questions council on Gardens renovation

The North Bay Taxpayers Association has a bone to pick with city council over renovations at Memorial Gardens.  Part of last year’s shared cost was $5 million from the North Bay Battalion.  However, the city didn’t get the Battalion’s share right away and went ahead with the work at its own expense.  But taxpayer association spokesman Don Rennick says doing that cost the city $113,000 in interest.  The Battalion eventually paid its share but Rennick wants to know if the city also plans to collect on the interest taxpayers incurred.  Council didn’t respond to his question.
