“Let’s Remember Adam, Stop for the Bus” campaign starting on Tuesday

The topic of school bus safety is a sensitive one for Pierre Ranger. Ranger’s younger brother Adam was hit and killed on February 11th, 2000 by a motorist who didn’t stop for the school bus.

Ranger is now the Chairman of the “Let’s Remember Adam, Stop For The School Bus” campaign. The campaign tries to raise awareness and spread the word about school bus safety so no family has to go through what his family has gone through, and continues to go through.

Ranger gives two main reasons for why people continue to not stop for school buses. One, believing it’s not worth their time to stop for the kids and two, they are distracted by something else going on and not paying attention to the road.

The campaign starts on Tuesday in North Bay and Mattawa. Ranger says he just wants people to think before running the lights, because it could be their daughter, son, niece or nephew.
