Week two of the traffic enforcement campaign got off to a good start, with no tickets being issued on Monday. But this morning, North Bay Police’s traffic enforcement officer issued a $490 ticket to a driver who failed to stop for a school bus on Trout Lake Road.
The police are reminding drivers to stop for the school bus in both directions when its upper red lights are flashing. Also, to reduce their speed to 40 kilometres an hour in community safety zones. And to wait for pedestrians, including school crossing guards, to completely cross the road before proceeding at school crossings.
The traffic enforcement campaign is continuing each day from 7:00am to 9:00am and from 3:00pm to 5:00pm until Friday.
