Make sure to lock everything up before you leave your house if you live in Powassan. The OPP say they’ve received an alarming number of calls recently about break and enters, thefts and mischief incidents involving homes, vehicles and other buildings.
Police recommend you lock your vehicle at all times and ensure your valuables aren’t inside your vehicle or at least are tucked away so they’re not in plain sight. Lock all sheds as well as your home, even if you are just going out to quickly pick something up at the store.
Police say they are investigating several crimes and charges will be laid once they’re solved. The most recent crime was early Tuesday morning. Someone broke into a residence between 2:00am and 6:00am and stole a red framed 2013 Duerr wood chipper with a 20 ton hydraulic piston grey in color with the sticker of Duerr 20 Ton on the front.
