Cancer kids spend week at camp

The western arm of Lake Nipissing is busy this week.  Seventy-six children affected by childhood cancer are camping at the lake thanks to Camp Quality.  The kids are from various communities in the northeast including North Bay, Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie.  The free event pairs a young child with an adult who provides guidance and mentoring.  The annual event features meals, activities and medical support.  Volunteers run Camp Quality and funding for the program comes from across Northeastern Ontario.
