Vic Fedeli, the Tory MPP for Nipissing, says the Liberals bragged that they opposed cuts, but he says they’re happening right now under their watch. Fedeli says in his riding 40 nurses are out of a job, eight teachers at the public school board got pink slips and more school board cuts are coming. On top of that, almost 70 union and non union Ontera jobs will disappear over the next 24 months after it’s bought by Bell Aliant. The Tory finance critic says this erosion of frontline services is happening because the Liberals are not spending within their means. Meanwhile Fedeli is angry that the Liberals are going ahead with the sale of Ontera to Bell. He says despite Liberal claims that the sale will save money, the Auditor General found it will actually cost taxpayers up to $70-million.
