Some local aircraft pilots have their sights set on capturing illegal gill-netters. North Bay Search and Rescue is a local volunteer group that uses their own plane to help with rescue missions. The group’s president stepped up and offered their assistance this weekend, to search for unmarked nets from the sky. They are using a float plane over Lake Nipissing that can fly low to the water to spot the illegal nets. In addition to the help of the flight group, a local First Nations member has offered up a 1-thousand dollar reward for information about the illegal nets.
