Near North Crimestoppers wants to help the Ministry of Natural Resources catch the owner of unattended gill nets in Lake Nipissing. Crimestoppers will pay double the amount meaning up to two thousand dollars will be awarded if information leads to an arrest. The illegal nets were near Great Manitou Island and were in place for about a week last month. When the MNR removed them, they contained many dead, decomposing fish. The nets did not have any markers that could identify the owner. Anyone with information on the illegal activity can call Crimestoppers.
