The SIU has cleared a Sudbury police officer after the van he was chasing crashed injuring the driver. The Special Investigations Unit found the officer did nothing wrong in pursuing the van. In fact the officer was about to end the chase when the other driver picked up speed, lost control and hit a tree breaking several bones. The collision happened last December during the early morning hours on Frood Road.
