The owner of L’Ami Garden Centre in North Bay will try to get back $4,100 dollars in penalties and interest on overdue taxes. Case L’Ami was late paying $35,000 over two years and was assessed the penalties which he later paid. L’Ami reminded city council Monday night that his business suffered heavily because of delays in finishing Lakeshore. He asked council if anyone has ever been forgiven tax penalties but got no answer. After the meeting, L’Ami told Moose FM it’s his intention to get back the $4,100.
