Politicians from Northern Ontario head to London, Ontario this Sunday for the annual Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference. The north wants to discuss several big ticket items including moving the Ring of Fire forward and what to do about high electricity rates. The Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities hopes to meet with provincial cabinet ministers on these issues as well as policing costs. North Bay mayor Al McDonald will be at AMO and he’s raising issues likes the future of the ONTC and diversifying the north’s economy. The three day event will attract 1,500 delegates from all three levels of government.
