Some toxins have been found in McQuaby Lake. It’s blue green algae, and in high levels the toxin can cause skin irritation and flu-like symptoms. The health unit says right now the water is still safe to use, but conditions of the toxin are constantly changing. If you see an algae bloom, do not go in the water, and report it to the Ministry of the Environment for assessment.
