North Bay Battalion not going down without a fight

The North Bay Battalion delivered when they needed to, keeping their playoff hopes alive with a 4-0 win over the Sudbury Wolves 4-0 last night. First year goaltender Julian Sime made 23 saves in the shutout, and North Bay native Brett Hargrave had the game winner.

North Bay moved to 24-36-6 on the season, now just a single point back of Sudbury ahead of the game tonight between the two teams. The Troops are also now just two points behind the Niagara IceDogs, who lost 4-1 to the Mississauga Steelheads last night. Adam McMaster had a goal and an assist in the victory, while the other goals for the Troops came from Brett McKenzie and Zach Poirier.

Assistant Coach John Dean says the guys sent a clear message that they’re not done yet. Dean says they know they’re in a playoff race, and while he’s happy with the outcome, but it doesn’t mean anything unless they win tonight. Tonight’s game will be in Sudbury at the Community Arena, and puck drop is at 7:00pm.
