Nipissing University celebrating World Social Work Day

A presentation at Nipissing University on Building a Better Canada for all Children and Youth is happening today to celebrate World Social Work Day. The lecture features the Chief Executive Officer at the Child Welfare League of Canada, Gordon Phaneuf. It will explore some of the key trends and developments in Social Work in Canada.

The potential for positive change in the lives of indigenous and non-indigenous children and youth will be examined in the light of establishment, findings and recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; Human Rights Tribunal Ruling; and the Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiry.

The presentation will address the prospects and challenges for creating a better Canada for children and youth. The lecture takes place at 6:00pm in room F210 at the university.
