Fire and Emergency Services deal with structure fire and remind residents about open air burning by-law

A structure fire over the weekend drew the attention of North Bay Fire and Emergency Services personnel from Fire Station One and Two. Crews responded to a structure fire at a home at 1250 Regina Street near Precious Paws Day Care around 6:30am on Saturday. Deputy Fire Chief Greg Saunders says fire crews were on scene within four minutes and moved to aggressively enter and extinguish the fire located in the detached garage.

Fire and Emergency Services are reminding the public with summer coming that there is an open air burning by-law in effect for the City of North Bay. Open air burning is allowed in the city under certain restrictions but only with a valid burning permit which can be obtained at the customer service centre at City Hall. Burning without an approved permit is a fineable offence. If you want to enjoy a fire, they ask you please get a permit and follow the rules.
