Nipissing University scores well in performance report

It’s glowing praise for Nipissing University.  A report examining key performance indicators at Ontario universities shows that Nipissing had the highest percentage of graduates finding work within two years of leaving the school.  That number stands at 95.7 percent and is two percentage points above the provincial average.  The findings from the report were read by Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli at Queen’s Park.  Fedeli told fellow MPPs that 90.8 percent of graduates find work within six months of graduating and that figure is three percent above the provincial average.  The Tory MPP said it’s numbers like this that make Nipissing University one of the top schools in Ontario.  “Nipissing University continues to be respected for its high quality education and overall student experience,” Fedeli said.  When it comes to student experience, Fedeli pointed out that 93.6 percent of the school’s students are either satisfied or very satisfied with their time at the school.  He said compare that figure to the provincial average of 87.7 percent and we’re   talking a six percentage point spread.

Fedeli had another impressive statistic for his colleagues and it involved the Mike Harris Learning Library which sits on the same property as Nipissing University and Canadore College.  Since opening only a few years ago, the library recently welcomed its one millionth visitor.   Mike Harris was Nipissing’s MPP from 1981 to 2002 in addition to Premier of Ontario from 1995 until 2002 when he left provincial politics.
