ReCycle Bikes 2017 campaign underway in the city

Do you have bikes sitting in your garage taking up space? Discovery Routes, a local non-profit charitable trails organization, has launched its ReCycle Bikes campaign for 2017. The program is in its third year and Discovery Routes hopes to refurbish and distribute more than 45 bikes.

The ReCycle Bikes initiative helps Discovery Routes offer bicycle programming for children and youth with a fleet of refurbished bikes and new helmets for participants to use.

More children in North Bay are able to experience the trails and natural spaces the city has to offer as a result of the program. Bikes can be dropped off any time up until April 24th at the YMCA and will be refurbished by volunteer bike mechanics from April 25th to the 28th.

Anyone who doesn’t have kid’s bikes lying around, but are still want to get involved can do so by helping with bike refurbishing and repair. Contact [email protected] or call 705-472-8480 ext. 223 for more information or to get involved.
