Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli acknowledges Team 1305 at Queen’s Park ahead of Ontario District Championship

Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli rose in Queen’s Park to commend Nipissing University and Team 1305 for this past weekend’s FIRST Robotics competition. Fedeli says in just six weeks, students put together robots to compete in high-intensity robotic sports, and the competition tests team member’s intellect, creativity, and overall strategy.

Fedeli added the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization inspires young people to take an interest and pursue careers in science, technology, and engineering. He says the event brought in 27 teams of talented individuals from high-schools all across Ontario, and what they accomplished was incredible.

He says this year’s competition saw its fair share of impressive builds, but in the end North Bay’s Team 1305 came out on top. Fedeli congratulated Team 1305 and their robot Clark, noting it was the first time ever a North Bay team had swept the competition. Thanks to their big win, Team 1305 is headed to Mississauga today to compete in the Ontario District Championship happening this weekend.
