Downtown Waterfront Advisory Committee formed by city council

The Downtown Waterfront Advisory Committee has been formed by North Bay city council. Mayor Al McDonald alongside Councillors George Maroosis and Mark King will make up the city’s portion. Gary Gardiner, Jamie Lowery, Tracy Restoule, and former Nipissing-Temiskaming MP Jay Aspin will make up the citizen portion.

21 applications were given to council, and the four were selected after council had adjourned in-camera on Tuesday night. Lowery is the executive director at Casselholme, while Gardiner and Restoule are residents who frequent and pay attention to things going on in the city. Aspin has been out of the public eye since losing his seat to current Nipissing-Temiskaming MP Anthony Rota in 2015.

The committee will review and make recommendations on the current proposals for the Kings Landing Wharf and the Downtown Waterfront Master Plan over the next few months. The group is expected to meet for the first time Friday.
