Flood Outlook downgraded to Water Safety statement

The Flood Outlook from the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority has been downgraded to a Water Safety statement. Although 15 to 20 millimetres of rain is expected in the next 24 hours, no additional precipitation is expected over the weekend.

Duty Officer Katelyn Lynch says water levels across much of the North Bay-Mattawa region remain elevated. Lynch added their last survey on April 13th showed no snow at the Chippewa Creek survey station, and only three to 11 cm in the La Vase River and Kaibuskong Rivers sub-watersheds. She says above zero temperatures over the next five days will help with the melting and evaporation of the remaining snow.
