City wide free yard sale happening all day tomorrow in North Bay

Do you have any unwanted but still usable, goods taking up space in your garage? Well, if you do the City of North Bay is organizing another Goods Exchange Day to get residents actively involved in waste reuse. It’s the second R in the 3R’s strategy; Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.

Starting at 8:00am tomorrow, the city is encouraging people to place usable unwanted goods at the curb or at the end of their driveways so other people can take them. Re-usable items include things like furniture, clothing, books, tools, sporting goods, toys, doors, windows, and sinks.

Goods Exchange Day is a city-wide free yard sale, and it helps protect the environment in two ways. The city says first it cuts down on garbage that would otherwise end up in the city’s landfill, and re-using items saves the energy and the environmental impact of making new ones. Residents are asked to remove any leftovers by 6:00pm as there will be no pickup of leftover items. If you’d like any further information, you’re asked to contact the Wasteline at 705-474-0400 ext. 2333.
