Summer in the Park has announced another act, Magic!, a Toronto-bred, Los-Angeles-based band, will be performing on Friday August 4th.
Magic! had the song of the summer, Rude, that held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks, and they’re back with 2017’s song of the summer, the smash hit collaboration Girl At Coachella with Matoma ft. D.R.A.M. which has already soared past 12 million streams. In March 2015, the band won two Junos for breakthrough group of the year and single of the year. Adam Messinger won the Juno for producer of the year. The band features lead vocalist and chief songwriter Nasri Atweh, guitarist Mark Pellim, drummer Alex Tanas and bassist Ben Spivak.
This past July, Magic! released a new album called Primary Colours, further showcasing its reggae influences and pop smarts releasing the Caribbean-tinged Lay You Down Easy (featuring Sean Paul) and the latest single, No Regrets which continues to climb the charts. Wristbands are $35 including HST until July 1st and are available at the Captiol Centre box office, city hall customer service desk, Canadian Tire, Parker’s Independent Grocers, North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, CIBC branches and at www.northbaysummerinthepark.ca.
