Fedeli denies negative comments about the NOHFC

The MPP for Nipissing isn’t surprised that the Ontario Liberals are claiming he’s made negative comments about the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.   But Vic Fedeli also doesn’t like the assertion saying there’s no truth to it.  As a follow-up to a budget interview with Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault, the Moose News department was sent an email from the minister’s office saying Fedeli was saying things about the NOHFC “to fulfill his own political narrative.”

The email added that the NOHFC budget remains at $100-million.  In an interview with Moose news, Fedeli said no one would find any record of him saying anything derogatory about the Heritage Fund because he didn’t say anything at all in the first place.  “I haven’t talked about the NOHFC budget in the Legislature nor to the media,” Fedeli said.   Fedeli says the alleged comments attributed to him were a divisionary tactic by the Liberals to draw attention away from his criticisms of budget cuts to the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines.  “This is a government that relies on attacks whenever they get caught or are outed on something that hurts Northern Ontario,” he said.  “They go on the attack and use their bully pulpit to purposely mislead the people of Northern Ontario.”  Moose News asked the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines what comments Fedeli is alleged to have made concerning the NOHFC and when.  So far there’s been no response back from MNDM.   Moose News will look at the MNDM cuts Fedeli referred to earlier in this story in a follow-up.
