The Rotaract Club of North Bay-Nipissing will present a cheque for $5000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Bay and District at their club meeting tonight. It gets started at 6:00pm in the Map Rom at Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen. The cheque comes from profits from Rotaract’s 3rd annual Poutine, Pints, and Plaid fundraiser back on February 24th, which benefits a different local organization each year.
Big Brothers Big Sisters North Bay Executive Director, Darlene Jamieson says they very pleased to be the charitable recipient of the Rotaract fundraiser Poutine, Pints, and Plaid. She says Big Brothers Big Sisters served 275 children and youth in the community through individual and group mentoring programs in 2016. Jamieson says mentoring programs for at-risk youth make a visible, significant difference to North Bay and District, and wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support of organizations like Rotaract.
