Chippewa Creek clean up happening on June 4th

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority is inviting the public to come out and help clean up Chippewa Creek on Sunday, June 4th. People can also learn more about adopting a portion of the creek during the 3rd Annual Chippewa Creek EcoPath Adopt-the-Creek Celebration.

Members from the NBMCA and Investors Group will be at 1350 Fisher Street at 11:00 am for a brief chat before heading to the Chippewa Creek EcoPath for the clean-up. New Ontario Brewery is offering a free fry to all participants after the clean-up.

Community Relations Coordinator Paula Loranger says the EcoPath was developed as a community initiative to restore and enhance the natural values and heritage of the creek through stewardship and education. Loranger says the 18 groups and families who have already adopted a portion of the creek have been great stewards, doing clean-ups, tree planting and acting as ambassadors for the creek and the EcoPath.
