News Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the Auditor General has caught the Liberals “Cooking The Books” again SHARE ON: Aaron Mahoney, staff Tuesday, May. 30th, 2017 Photo Credit: Supplied Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli grilled Premier Kathleen Wynne during Question Period at Queen’s Park after recent comments made by the Auditor General about their hydro scheme. Fedeli says the Auditor General expressed concern over the government’s hydro plan, because the Liberal’s plan to borrow billions and not declare any of it on their books. He says the AG found the government tried to hide a massive amount of government debt in the books of an arm’s-length organization, Ontario Power Generation. The AG also said that type of scheme is not allowed under Canadian public-sector accounting standards. Fedeli then asked the Premier why it always takes the Auditor General, the Financial Accountability Officer, or the OPP for the people of Ontario to get to the truth. He says this news coincides with the government’s ongoing trend of a lack of transparency, accountability, and ethics. Fedeli finished by saying the Wynne government continues to make decisions and deals with only re-election in 2018 in mind, and not the best interests of the people of Ontario.
