Callander man fined for using someone else’s tags while hunting

Ryan Gough, from Callander, pleaded guilty and has been fined $2,000 for possessing another person’s deer seal while hunting. A conservation officer observed a deer hanging in a garage in Callander back on November 11th. Upon further inspection, he determined that another person’s deer seal was attached to the buck deer.

An investigation found Gough harvested a ten-point buck, and then affixed another person’s game seal to the animal while deer hunting on his property for white-tailed deer. That person didn’t participate in the hunt with Gough, and the deer was seized by a conservation officer.
