Stage 1 of the work on the Lakeshore Drive overpass has been completed, and as a result traffic will now be redirected to the west side of the bridge to allow Stage 2 to get started. The traffic switch over will happen either tomorrow afternoon, or Wednesday morning.
Drivers can expect delays during this time, and the city encourages people to use an alternate route. In a release, members from the city thanks residents for their patience, and add the project is still on schedule to be finished in late September.
Memorial Drive was originally supposed to be partially closed tomorrow as well, but the city has reversed that decision. The closure would’ve affected the amount of alternate traffic coming out of the Ferris area. Instead, the city says the closure is cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
