Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited officials say the site of the old Moe-Ze-On-Inn is not their preferred location for a future casino in North Bay. The city re-zoned the land before Gateway had been selected as the service provider, and they’d like to look for site that better aligns with their vision.
Included in that vision is parking, visibility, and being in an area of town where there’s other business activity nearby. The old Kenroc site and the vacant property across from the hospital have been discussed as potential sites in the past. Any decision made by Gateway on a site for a casino would still have to pass at city council before anything is made official.
