There’s more evidence the Ring of Fire is starting to pick up steam. Sault Ste. Marie and Sioux Lookout have been talking about creating a trans-load facility. Under it, raw materials from the Ring of Fire would be trucked to Sioux Lookout and then transferred to rail to get them to a smelter. The idea is one that NorOnt Resources, the largest player at the Ring of Fire, is aware of. The Sault Star says Sault Ste. Marie is one of four northern cities interested in hosting a smelter. The others are Sudbury, Timmins and Thunder Bay.
