Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli has announced more thanĀ $47,000 has been awarded through the Ontario Arts Council to a few local arts groups. $17,000 is going to towards Les Compagnons des francs loisirsĀ for their annual Francophone culture celebration in North Bay and region. It will include theatre productions, music performances and art exhibitions that explore cultural diversity.
$9,845 will be going to Windsong Music through the Northern Arts program toward its Windsong Music Festival. This festival presents Canadian artists, including new generation artists (age 18-30), from northern Ontario. Finally $14,447 is going to the Capital Centre through the Ontario Dances program for programming pop-up dance events. They were also awarded $6,000 through the Theatre ConnectsĀ program to go towards its presentation and audience development activities.
Fedeli says these organizations are vital to the vibrant arts and culture community, and theyāre fortunate to have in Nipissing.
