OPP say watch out for funny money

OPP are warning Ontario residents to watch out for counterfeit cash.  The funny money is making the rounds across the province and denominations vary from as low as $5 to $100.   Police add con artists are using both Canadian and U.S. banknotes when passing off their bogus bills.  The OPP are partnering with the RCMP and Bank of Canada to teach business owners and the public how to spot counterfeit money.   Police say employees should watch for people who use more cash than needed to pay for items.  They add scammers usually try to peddle their funny money when a store is busy.  If you think someone is giving you a counterfeit bill, try to get as much information about the person and then call the police.  Last year in Ontario nearly 4,000 bogus bills were passed.
