The Mattawa and Bonfield area are in store for some very good news this Thursday. That’s when the region releases details about a new private-sector business that will have a very significant economic impact on the region. MPP Vic Fedeli and MP Anthony Rota will be on hand for the news as well as the five mayors in the Mattawa-Bonfield corridor. Donna Maitland is the director of economic development for Mattawa-Bonfield. Maitland says the announcement could create a large number of permanent jobs for people in the region and district and stresses the project does not have any government funding despite the presence of the federal and provincial members. Maitland adds several regional partners will also see business growth. Details of the business come down mid-morning Thursday in Bonfield.
